Guidelines
Select a pair of dumbbells and hold them at your sides to prepare for the dumbbell step-up.
Adopt a straight posture in front of a level bench or other elevated surface.
Keep your knees slightly bent and your eyes ahead. This is where everything begin.
Raise your left knee and place your left foot on the platform.
After your foot is securely on the platform, raise your body with your left heel so that your right foot is also on the platform.
After a little pause, slowly move back with your right leg and take a stride toward your starting position.
Once you’ve completed the required number of reps, continue this motion while advancing with your right foot.
Advice:
Throughout the workout, maintain a straight back and an upturned head. Don’t ever let your back curve.
Elevate the platform to increase the intensity and challenge. The exercise gets more strenuous the higher the platform.
Use very little or no weight at first. Exercise like this calls for a lot of balance, so proceed with caution.
